Pakistan and China have decided to uplift their strategic and economic cooperation through various projects, Chinese Ambassador, Sun Weidong said in an interview in Islamabad on Monday adding that regional peace is key to economic and social development in South Asia.
He said Pakistan and China are committed to safeguard their common interests in the region.
He said China is also ready to cooperate with other SAARC states to safeguard common interests.
The Ambassador said Pakistan and China are committed to bring peace process back to Afghanistan.
He said cooperation between China and South Asia is also important to cope with various challenges and to alleviate poverty.
Sun Weidong said China is the biggest investor in Pakistan and it want to further deepen its relations with South Asian countries.
He said Pakistan is all weather friend of China and not an ally.
