Pakistani authorities and analysts have expressed strong approval of the recent Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Foreign Ministers’ Conference convened in Tianjin, China. They characterized the event as a pivotal juncture for enhancing regional solidarity, fostering dialogue, and advancing multilateral collaboration. This forum is regarded as an essential mechanism for mitigating tensions, promoting diplomatic engagement, and reinforcing economic and strategic partnerships throughout South and Central Asia, particularly amidst escalating global geopolitical instability.
In exclusive remarks, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran, Mudassir Tipu, lauded the SCO Foreign Ministers’ gathering, describing it as "a timely and strategic platform for strengthening regional cooperation, peace, and connectivity.” Ambassador Tipu underscored the SCO’s critical role as a vehicle for facilitating multilateral dialogue, resolving political friction, and progressing shared economic objectives among participating nations.
He observed that the conference solidified China’s constructive leadership in advocating for a rules-based, multipolar regional framework. Within this structure, Tipu noted, countries such as Pakistan, Iran, Russia, and the Central Asian republics can interact on an equitable basis.
