GWADAR, 1 November – On November 1st, the GDA hospital will change its name to Indus Hospital, a prestigious name, and position in the country’s social service and health sectors, in a step that would forever alter the health sector in Gwadar (Tuesday). On the same day, a formal ceremony will transfer control of GDA Hospital to Indus Hospital.
Under the direction of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, Chief Secretary Balochistan Abdul Aziz Uqaili and Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) Mujeeb ur Rehman Qambrani signed an agreement.
The Gwadar community will now receive free medical care after the GDA hospital was converted into the Indus Hospital. For decades, the city had no reliable medical facilities. Residents of Gwadar will no longer experience health stress due to the need to travel miles to Karachi to receive medical care and assistance. Families had to witness the deaths of their loved ones in the majority of emergencies as they traveled from Gwadar to Karachi.
The opening of the new medical facility will also result in a drop in health-related expenses because the cost of travel and transportation will nearly entirely disappear.
This institute will be the first and only hospital of its kind in Balochistan where the best doctors and paramedical staff of Karachi will be present to serve day and night with modern medical equipment.
It consists of 70 beds while Pak China Friendship Hospital under construction will consist of 150 beds and will be a state-of-the-art and international standard hospital.
