Imran Khan, the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), survived an attempted murder on Day 7 of the party’s "Haqeeqi Long March” and is currently receiving medical care at Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Lahore.
As it passed through Wazirabad town in Punjab, Imran’s container came under attack. Other party leaders and supporters were hurt in the incident, which was apparently carried out by a lone gunman, and he was shot in the leg.
Speaking to the media, the former health minister Dr. Faisal Sultan stated that a medical test discovered bullet fragments and a small chip in the tibia as a result of the injury. Imran was given pain medication during the emergency assessment and was said to be coherent.
Imran is "out of danger,” according to senior party figure and former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, who also claimed that the attack was intended for the "entire Pakistani country” and not just Imran.
Elahi claims that Imran will not back down.
After visiting Imran in the hospital, Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi stated that Imran is doing well and that he is resolved "not to back down.”
Elahi claimed that he has requested that a JIT be formed "at our level” by the provincial IG to ascertain "who all is behind this attack and who is involved in training him [alleged attacker]”.
Fawad Chaudhry, the party’s head, described it as a "targeted attack.” Speaking to a private news outlet, he said that Ahmad Chattha and Faisal Javed were among the three victims of the incident.
Another victim was a senator and party leader Faisal Javed, who reportedly had a bullet graze his cheek.
"Well-planned attempt at murder”
Fawad asserted that Imran and the party leadership were the targets of the attack, which he described as a "well-planned assassination attempt.”
He dismissed contradicting claims by claiming that the weapon used "was a burst from an automatic weapon” and that it [the escape] was narrow.”
Imran has claimed that the attack was carried out by PM Shehbaz, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, and a military official through the leadership of his party. He has ordered their removal, threatening to call for a protest if they remain.
Additionally, PTI leaders have stated that they want to file an FIR against these three people.

In response to the assassination attempt, PTI chairman Asad Umar stated that those who wanted to stop Imran were unable to do so, therefore the "cowards tried to martyr him.”
Khan is protected by Allah, and He has not yet dealt with the people’s Kaptaan.
