Hu Zhaoming, Spokesman of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC), engaged with Pakistani media representatives during an interactive session held at the Chinese Embassy on Tuesday. The discourse centered on mutual concerns, encompassing bilateral relations, shared geo-economic interests, and the evolving regional security landscape.
In his opening remarks, Hu commended the deepening multifaceted ties between China and Pakistan. He observed that "broad-based popular backing distinguishes this partnership globally, rendering it unique and exceptional.” Hu affirmed that "the governments and political parties of both nations are resolutely dedicated to further fortifying the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership.”
Citing a Chinese proverb, Hu Zhaoming, who also serves as Director General of the IDCPC’s Information and Communication Bureau, emphasized that "China prioritizes tangible action over rhetoric.” He stated, "We are profoundly satisfied with the current trajectory of our relations,” adding that "these developments mirror the shared aspirations of our peoples.”
Hu expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s "comprehensive support for China on regional and international matters, notably within international forums.” While acknowledging "past challenges and difficulties in certain areas,” Hu remarked that "these have never impeded the swift advancement of our deeply rooted bilateral bonds.”
He underscored the imperative for "a more secure and stable environment,” noting that "there consistently exists potential for further enhancement of the bilateral relationship across all spheres of mutual interest.” Hu asserted, "Without stability and security, economic development remains unattainable.”
Hu also highlighted the "pivotal function of the media, particularly social media, in fostering mutual objectives through constructive analysis.” He urged that "media should proactively amplify the spirit of friendship and the warmth of mutual sentiments at the public level,” stressing the "significance of youth engagement and bilateral exchanges in perpetuating the decades-long friendship.”
Regarding Pakistani political parties and leaders, Hu stated they "have consistently demonstrated unanimity on the Sino-Pak relationship, specifically concerning the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).” Responding to inquiries, Hu clarified that "China supports Pakistan’s constructive engagement with all nations, including the United States.” He further added that "China advocates for the peaceful resolution of disputes between Pakistan and India through dialogue.”
